Squamish Pirates Swim Club

Summer Swimming

For swimmers looking to enhance their skills and compete in local swim meets, the Squamish Pirates Swim Club offers a competitive swimming season that runs from May to the beginning of August (mid August if you make Provincials). This program is designed for pre-competitive and competitive swimmers who want to build endurance, refine technique, and stay active during the warmer months. The summer session typically includes multiple weekly practices, dryland training, and opportunities to compete in regional BC Summer Swimming meets.

Winter Programs

To help swimmers maintain their progress and conditioning throughout the year, the club also offers a winter season from October through April with a pre-competitive and competitive maintenance program. This program focuses on stroke refinement, strength building, and maintaining swim fitness during the off-season. While less intensive than the summer session, it provides consistent training to prepare athletes for the next competitive season.

Pre- Competitive Program - Ages 6-14

2 days per week.

Our pre-competitive Winter Program is designed for swimmers who are new to the sport and have not yet competed in a swim meet. This program focuses on stroke development, endurance and introducing swimmers to structured training in a fun and supportive environment. Perfect for those looking to build foundational skills and prepare for future competitive opportunities. This season may also include some internal race opportunities to simulate swim meets and racing opportunities.

Competitive Maintenance Program - Ages 6-16

2 days per week.

The competitive Winter Maintenance Program is ideal for swimmers who participated in the 2025 Summer Season and want to stay fit and sharp during the off-season. This program focuses on stroke refinement, technique, and conditioning, helping athletes maintain their progress and return event stronger for Summer 2026. This season may also include some internal race opportunities to keep your race skills sharp.

Ocat Swim Club – Year-Round Competitive Program

5+ days per week.

The Ocat Swim Club follows a year-round competitive training schedule that runs from October to July. This extended season overlaps with the traditional summer swim season, allowing dedicated swimmers to continue training and competing at a high level throughout the year. Ocat swimmers participate in structured training cycles that include technique work, race preparation, dryland conditioning, and a full competition calendar aligned with Swim BC and national standards.
