Squamish Pirates Swim Club – Seasonal Training Overview

Summer Swimming

For swimmers looking to enhance their skills and compete in local swim meets, the Squamish Pirates Swim Club offers a competitive swimming season that runs from May to the beginning of August (mid August if you make Provincials). This program is designed for pre-competitive and competitive swimmers who want to build endurance, refine technique, and stay active during the warmer months. The summer session typically includes multiple weekly practices, dryland training, and opportunities to compete in regional BC Summer Swimming meets.

To help swimmers maintain their progress and conditioning throughout the year, the club also offers a winter maintenance session from October through April. This program focuses on stroke refinement, strength building, and maintaining swim fitness during the off-season. While less intensive than the summer session, it provides consistent training to prepare athletes for the next competitive season.

Ocat Swim Club – Year-Round Competitive Program

The Ocat Swim Club follows a year-round competitive training schedule that runs from October to July. This extended season overlaps with the traditional summer swim season, allowing dedicated swimmers to continue training and competing at a high level throughout the year. Ocat swimmers participate in structured training cycles that include technique work, race preparation, dryland conditioning, and a full competition calendar aligned with Swim BC and national standards.
