Pre Competitive Program (BCSSA)
The Pre Competitive Program is designed for swimmers who want to continue developing their swimming skills while becoming part of a swim club environment. This program is a great fit for swimmers who are building confidence in the water, learning the fundamentals of all four strokes, and beginning to explore what competitive swimming is all about. Swimmers will develop the skills, fitness, and confidence needed to progress into our Competitive Program when they are ready.
Winter Training
During the winter, swimmers participate in two structured one hour practices per week. Training focuses on building strong swimming fundamentals, improving stroke technique, developing endurance, and learning starts, turns, and basic race skills. Swimmers are encouraged to challenge themselves, set personal goals, and develop the confidence and skills needed to continue progressing as swimmers.
Moving Toward Competitive Swimming
The Pre Competitive Program provides a pathway for swimmers who would like to eventually join our Competitive Program. Throughout the season, coaches will help swimmers develop the skills, confidence, and readiness needed to take the next step. Swimmers will have opportunities to experience swim club activities and begin becoming familiar with the team environment, competition, and what it means to be a competitive swimmer. Pre competitive swimmers will be invited to join the Summer 2027 program, swim up to 5 times per week, try swim meets and club events.
Program: 7-17 year old
